# Logging

As part of a troubleshooting exercise, you may wish to enable verbose application logging. In order to do so, visit **YDS OneSearch -> Docs & Settings** in the left nav and configure the System Log Level setting. The System Log Level options become more verbose from top-to-bottom, with **Debug** being the most extensive. Choose this option when troubleshooting an active issue or gathering logs to send to Yansa Labs.

{% hint style="info" %}
By default, the System Log Level is set to **Error**. Be sure to reset your System Log Level to this when finished troubleshooting in order to minimize unnecessary logs and ensure the best performance of your ServiceNow instance.
{% endhint %}
