# Global Component

Before you start activating Separation Rules, you'll need to install a small, globally-scoped Script Include in your environment. This component gives Simple Data Separation the permissions it needs to enact data segregation on any table in your ServiceNow instance.

To install the Global Component, visit **Yansa Simple Separation -> Install Global Components** in your left nav. Follow the prompts to Install or Update the component.
