# Instruction Statements

An **Instruction Statement** is a text statement providing instructions to the [**AI Provider**](/tracy-social-ai/technical-docs/getting-started/setting-up-an-ai-connector/ai-providers.md) about things it should or should not do when responding to your [**AI Prompt**](/tracy-social-ai/technical-docs/components-of-a-post/ai-prompts.md).
