# TrendSeeker Metrics

{% hint style="info" %}
TrendSeeker Metrics store the historical calculated results of each [TrendSeeker Rule](/trendseeker/technical-docs/trendseeker-rules.md) run. For TrendSeeker Rules that use calculated [Threshold Scripts](/trendseeker/technical-docs/threshold-scripts.md), these metrics are used to understand historical behavior and understand when behavior is out of the ordinary.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
TrendSeeker Metrics can be used for trend analysis via ServiceNow standard reports - like a lightweight Performance Analytics!
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Only 1 metric is kept per day for a particular Rule/Aggregate combination, regardless of how often the TrendSeeker Rule runs. This is to ensure consistency across reporting and historical metric calculation.
{% endhint %}
