# Adding OneSearch to a Workspace Record Page

{% hint style="info" %}
Before OneSearch will appear on a workspace, you must configure a **Form/Portal/Workspace** record for the table being shown in the workspace. More information on this can be found in the [Tips & Tricks](/onesearch/technical-docs/tips-and-tricks.md) section.
{% endhint %}

1. Open UI Builder to the desired workspace experience. Select the appropriate page and page variant.

2. In the component tree, select the “Tab sidebar” component. Click the “+ Add” button in the config pane to add a new tab.

3. Choose to build the tab from an empty container (default option in the popup window) and then fill in the tab settings. Click “Create”.

4. In the component tree, click “+ Add component” under the newly created tab. Select the “YDS OneSearch - General Search Widget” component.

5. Set the properties in the config panel for the “YDS OneSearch - General Search Widget” component by binding “Table”, “Record”, and “Form fields” to the record data. Alternatively, if you do *not* want the OneSearch component tied to the record data, you can instead set the “Searcher override” property to one of your defined OneSearch Searchers. Setting the “Searcher override” will override the calculated Searcher determined by the previous properties.

6. Save the changes and then open the record in the workspace to interact with the configured OneSearch component.
